When we inherited part of this farm, we wanted to make sure not to take away from any name that was part of it, so the name High Rook Run Farms came from each family’s last name involved.
High = Higgins
Rook = Rooker
Run = Bunn & Rogers put together
Our family farming roots dates all the way back to 1831. My 5th great grandparents David & Helen Higgins were actual Pioneers in Hendricks County, of this same property.
While a lot of things have changed in almost 200 years there is one thing that hasn’t changed and that is the blood, sweat and tears that have been put in on the farm f

While a lot of things have changed in almost 200 years there is one thing that hasn’t changed and that is the blood, sweat and tears that have been put in on the farm from crops to livestock. Each generation always giving their labor and God always providing.
Colossians 3:23-24
That’s why when we inherited part of it in 2018, with hard work and determination in April of 2020 we were able to purchase our first 2 sets of bred cows, those being Red Angus and Belted Galloway. We have since grown the herd to quite a few and have even added the sought after Wagyu beef to the mix also. We are also honey farmers, so we have a limited supply of honey available every year, farm fresh eggs year-round, and seasonal veggies….and yes, we take the lil pigs to the market too.
We strive to raise healthy and tasty animals to serve the community with a product that keeps them wanting more!
